IMPLANT SURGERY, FAST AND AESTHETICS, WHAT SHOULD WE PAY ATTENTION TO BEFORE AND AFTER THE OPERATION?

  • Following tooth extraction, bite firmly on the tampon placed by your dentist for 45-60 minutes and then discard it. Never place a tampon with the thought of bleeding. The tampon you place will not be as sterile as in clinical conditions.
  • Do not spit for the first 24 hours.
  • Do not eat anything until you are numb after the operation or tooth extraction. You can bite and injure the numb areas without realising it.
  • After the operation, avoid very hot, very cold and very hard foods.
  • For the first 2 days after the operation, milk and dairy products should be avoided.
  • Do not smoke for the first 24 hours, if possible for 5 days. Avoid alcoholic beverages.
  • Use your medicines as prescribed by your physician.
  • Do not insert your tongue or any object, substance or tool into the cavity after tooth extraction. Since the teeth are connected to the jaw bone, the bone emerges after extraction and you may think that there is a piece left. Do not be interested in that area, the open bone will be covered with your gums within a few days.
  • You may have pain after the operation, you can take any painkiller except aspirin. Especially when your numbness passes, the pain reaches its highest value. This is a normal situation, do not worry.
  • Put a high pillow under your head after the operation, if possible, and lie down and rest on the day of the operation.
  • You can continue your normal oral care routine 24 hours after the operation.
  • You may have swelling and pain in your face after the operation. To prevent swelling as much as possible, keep the ice you will put in a bag on the cheek area above that area as much as possible. Remove the ice pack every two minutes, wait for thirty seconds and put the ice pack back on. In case of severe pain and swelling, bleeding for more than 24 hours, bad taste and odour in the mouth, call your dentist immediately.
